10x faster order picking
Boosts picking rates from 20 to nearly 200 order lines per hour.

Facing over half a million parcels a day, this hub needed nonstop, error-free sorting. YJ-INTL deployed a loop cross belt system on a C++ distributed architecture, issuing sorting commands in under 10ms and running 7×24 through peak seasons. Full-process video traceability lets operators retrieve any parcel's journey by tracking number.

Operations Director, ZTO Express Hub"During Black Friday, our daily volume nearly doubled — the YJ-INTL loop cross belt line never stopped. Over 500,000 parcels a day, mis-sorts almost zero, and their after-sales team was on site before every peak season. It's the most reliable equipment investment we've made."

High-Speed Sorting Operation

With the rapid growth of e-commerce and express delivery services, logistics hubs are facing increasing pressure to improve parcel processing efficiency, sorting accuracy, and operational flexibility. Traditional manual sorting operations can no longer fully satisfy the requirements of modern express distribution centers, especially during peak seasons when parcel volumes increase significantly.
To support the intelligent upgrade of ZTO Express logistics hub, YJ-INTL provided a customized double layer loop cross belt sorter solution designed for high-volume parcel sorting operations.
The project adopts a true double layer loop cross belt sorting system, featuring 816 sorting chutes, 660 cross belt carriers, 24 induction stations, and 4 induction zones. Through advanced mechanical design, intelligent control technology, and automated sorting processes, the system helps improve sorting efficiency while ensuring stable operation for daily logistics activities.
This project demonstrates YJ-INTL’s expertise in delivering complete logistics automation solutions for express companies and large-scale distribution centers.

As one of China's major express delivery companies, ZTO Express operates extensive logistics networks requiring efficient parcel handling capabilities. With increasing parcel volumes driven by e-commerce growth, logistics hubs need automation systems that can process large quantities of parcels accurately and continuously.
The High-Tech logistics center required an advanced sorting solution to overcome several operational challenges:
The rapid development of online shopping and regional distribution networks created higher requirements for parcel sorting capacity. The sorting system needed to support multiple destinations while maintaining stable performance.
Traditional manual sorting methods involve high labor requirements and may experience efficiency fluctuations during peak periods. Automation was required to improve operational consistency and reduce dependence on manual processes.
For express logistics operations, accurate destination identification and parcel routing are essential. The system needed to ensure reliable sorting performance while minimizing sorting errors.
Large logistics hubs require efficient use of available space. A double layer sorting structure provides better vertical space utilization compared with traditional single-level systems.
Based on the operational requirements of ZTO Express hub, YJ-INTL designed and delivered a true double layer loop cross belt sorter system.
The system configuration includes:
The above configuration enables the system to efficiently handle complex parcel sorting requirements in modern express distribution environments.
The cross belt sorter uses independently controlled carrier units running along a closed-loop track. Each carrier is equipped with a small conveyor belt that can move parcels accurately toward designated destinations.
The automated sorting process includes:
Operators or upstream conveyor systems introduce parcels into the sorter through multiple induction stations. The four-zone induction layout improves parcel feeding efficiency and balances system workload.
Parcels are identified through integrated scanning and control systems. The system determines the correct sorting destination based on logistics information.
The control system tracks each parcel position and calculates the optimal discharge point.
When the carrier reaches the assigned destination chute, the cross belt automatically moves the parcel sideways into the correct sorting location.
This continuous automated process improves sorting consistency and supports stable logistics operations.

YJ-INTL provides more than individual sorting equipment. The company delivers complete automation solutions covering:
For the ZTO Express project, YJ-INTL applied professional engineering processes to ensure smooth implementation and reliable system operation. The double layer structure was designed according to the customer's site conditions, helping maximize available space while maintaining efficient parcel transportation.
After implementation, the double layer loop cross belt sorter provides multiple operational advantages:
With 816 sorting chutes, the system supports a large number of destination classifications, making it suitable for complex express distribution networks.
The double layer configuration increases sorting capacity within limited warehouse space, helping logistics operators improve facility utilization.
The automated sorting structure reduces manual intervention and provides consistent performance for daily operations.
The system provides a foundation for future logistics expansion, allowing express companies to improve automation levels as business volume grows.
YJ-INTL specializes in intelligent logistics automation equipment and provides customized sorting solutions for express companies, e-commerce fulfillment centers, and third-party logistics providers.
With experience in large-scale sorting projects, YJ-INTL combines:
The ZTO Express double layer loop cross belt sorter project represents YJ-INTL’s capability in building efficient and reliable parcel sorting infrastructure for modern logistics operations.
The system uses a true double layer loop cross belt sorter configuration, including 660 cross belt carriers, 816 sorting chutes, 24 induction stations, and 4 induction zones. The designed running speed is 2.0–2.5m/s.
A double layer loop cross belt sorter provides higher sorting density, better space utilization, and flexible destination allocation, making it suitable for large express sorting centers.
